GROWTH/成长
Concept：
Based on my own experience of growing up in an Asian culture, I see a new generation of young people growing up in a new era that is freer than ever before, but at the same time burdened with the old rules and regulations based on them. Asian women at different ages are burdened with more rules from the old society than men, and society often puts the burden of marriage and children on women, even if they are highly educated, and their existence seems to be only a tool for reproduction for the society and the state. In this cartoon, I want to express the conflicts that arise from the pressure of life faced by "free" women who are trying to grow up in the gap between the old and the new society.
基于自身经历的亚洲文化的成长环境里，我看到新一代的年轻人在比以往更自由的新时代里成长，但与此同时还要背负着旧社会基于他们的规训。相比起男性，在不同的年龄阶段的亚洲女性她们的身上背负了更多来自旧社会的规则，社会常常会将结婚生子的重任放在女性身上，即使受过高等教育的女性，她们的存在对于社会和国家来说似乎只是生殖的工具。在这幅漫画里，我想表达夹在新旧社会交替缝隙中努力成长的“自由”女性所面临的人生压力而产生内心矛盾的过程。
